CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Yoga for Teens welcomes students new to yoga as well as those with
experience. The class will focus on safety, proper alignment, breath and body
awareness while working with the asanas (postures). Students will be
encouraged to work at their own levels and the instructor will offer
modifications to the asanas as needed. Each class will end with a period of
deep relaxation -- leaving the students refreshed and focused for the day.

Bring a yoga mat and a firm blanket to class.
(Instructor: Sandi Russi.)

The Art class for teens will include watercolor painting as well as veil painting
-- a translucent, layering of color creating an ethereal effect. The class will
also explore still life drawing and the concepts of light and darkness using dry
media.
(Instructor: Rumi Gant.)

Electricity and Magnetism
This 12-week course will introduce students to the concepts behind the forces
of electricity and magnetism and how these forces relate to each other and
drive much of the technology of today. Through a combination of lectures,
demonstrations, and in-class projects the students will gain an understanding
of the uses of electromagnetism in this phenomenologically-based course.

Class requirements: Student should be able to read and write at a sixth
grade level. Previous experience in science courses is not necessary.

Grades / Evaluations: All classwork and projects will be reviewed by instructor
and constructive feedback will be given as appropriate. For an extra fee of $50
per student, letter grades will be given.

(Instructor: Talib Huff)

Classical Writing will be a full-year course. Semester 1 will run for 10 weeks.
Semester 2 will run 15-16 weeks and will be priced accordingly. Weekly
homework will be assigned.

The
FREE Introductory Class (Sept. 20) is open to both parents and their
students. It is designed to give an overview of the class and convey the
comprehensiveness of the course.

While the emphasis of this course will be on persuasive composition, the
concepts are applicable to all forms of writing. Students will learn key skills
(rather than formulas) and thinking tools. This structured program starts slowly
to ensure comprehension of foundational concepts before moving to more
advanced applications.

Prerequisite: Knowledge of basic English grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Grades / Evaluations: All homework and essays will be reviewed by instructor
and constructive feedback will be given as appropriate. For an extra fee of $50
per student (1st semester), letter grades will be given.

(Instructor: Sandi Russi.)
